Hall of Infinite Doors
The door before you is pink--a little gay. Nevertheless you push it open and enter. The room on the other side is austere to say the least. Gray stone floor. Gray stone walls. Someone must have liked gray. A lot.
The room is dominated by a long wooden table without chairs. Someone must like to eat standing up. There are two doors to the room, made of the same dreary wood.
A door opens and in walks a white bearded man in blue silk stockings and a red robe.
"Sir Gavin, I am pleased you came. We have most urgent business. The princess, my daring Sophia, has disappeared. I feared she has gone off with that bastard Orlin. He will be the undoing of us all."
It occurs to you that this man is the King, Mercurio the Fourth, and you are a trusted knight. Why? You don't know. But trusted you are. Sophia is a pleasant looking girl who has grown up as the apple of her daddy's eye. She's rich, pretty, and enjoys nice things. Orlin is her current lover.
"Orlin must be stopped. You must get her back or it will be the undoing of my kingdom. I cannot have this scandal now. Worse, her witch mother has escaped. I know not where she is."
Now this is interesting. Her which mother, Belinda, is a powerful witch who seduced the king to have Sophia. She could use her daughter to obtain the throne over the king's younger child (and son), Richard.
Your choices are clear. You inform the king that:
