You go to a state school to study pre-med and work your ass off. You achieve a 4.0 and do very well on the Mcats. Still, you get rejected from your top choice medical schools, but you make it into a halfway decent one. After going through that school for four years and your residency effectively wasting away half your life you become a doctor.
