Time Traveller
You reach out groggily and fumble for your alarm clock as it bleeps loudly and insistantly. Eventually finding the button, you press it and the room is silent again. There's no getting back to sleep now though, so you open your eyes and sit up.
A work day. Up at 6am, home by 10pm. Those are the long hours of being a doctor; you can't complain, the money is great. As you wander into the bathroom to have a shower, you find yourself thinking back randomly to when you had one of those big choices in life; whether to go into science or medicine. You are so glad you chose this path; you've never been happier, seeing patients and healing people.
As you are getting ready to leave and doing the usual search for your car keys, you grin. For some odd reason, you feel really good about yourself.
