The Russian Chick

Yulia Volkova sighed and picked up the friendship necklaces. Today was Lena's birthday, and THIS was what she wanted to give her girlfriend. She knew the woman wouldn't let her buy it because of the stupid legend. 'How on earth can two girls switch bodies to save the other's lives through these...really...cool...necklaces?' With another sigh, she hit on an idea. Why not switch the necklaces the woman had seen her pick out and *told her the price of* with these? The woman would just charge her the required rubles (Lol! I think they use euros now...) plus tax. When she tested this theory, sure enough, the woman neglected to look inside the box, and the girl left the store, scott-free. The cashier never suspected a thing!

A little while later, Yulia arrived at her and Lena's apartment, with the older girl no where to be seen. This would be great, it wasn't every day that the love of your life turned 18! The short raven-haired girl eagerly raced around, trying to get things ready for her girlfriend's arrival. 'I want this to be the best birthday my Lenochka's ever had!' she thought to herself. Just as she put the final candle in the cake, she heard a key in the door, and rushed there. "Happy birthday Lena!" Lena was excited, for the first time that day. The two moved to the kitchen, and Lena made a wish and blew out the candles. "Time for your gift," sang the excited brunnette. With that, she pulled a small, white box out of her pocket and thrust it into her love's hands. "Happy birthday, Lenochka," she said as she brushed a sweet kiss across the red-head's lips.

"I'd like another one of those in a moment," laughed the green-eyed girl before turning her attention to the small, white box. Her jaw nearly hit the ground as she opened it. "Oh, Yul... You shouldn't have!" Yulia grinned.

"I wanted to. Well, it's late and Ivan has us scheduled for practice tomorrow, so I think we should get some rest," she said, as she slipped on one of the halves. "You get the right side, because you're just right for me." Yulia grinned and slid the left side about her own neck. "And I get left, because love is what's left when everything else has become nothing." Lena smiled and Yulia kissed her softly, ready for bed.

Yulia came to, but refused to open her eyes. 'Something's not right,' she thought to herself, realizing her head was resting on Lena's chest. 'Odd. I thought Lena's head was on my chest when we fell asleep.' With a smile, she looked up at her sleeping lover, but the smile faded when she saw her own body!

(How did she react?)
