Prologue: Your name is Marianne Janhassen. You are 14 years old, and you live with your mother, Stella, your stepfather, Jordan, and your adopted 6 year old twin sisters, Sara and Alexandria.
You have three friends, who are Lily, Annabelle, and James. Lily and Annabelle don't get along well, and Lily has a hatred of James. You sometimes think of not being friends with Lily anymore, but she's your oldest friend, and it's hard to break that kind of relationship.
