The History Paper

If your best friend, and frankly bane of your existence, had told you a week ago you would have a weekend trip to the Underworld and still manage to get your history paper submitted on time, you would have laughed in his face. Unfortunately, that would be a lie -- while you did in fact visit the Underworld, that history paper wasn't done on time.

. . . . . .

"Oh, come on!" Chase, the best friend in question, nagged over the phone. "You never go out, and it's only a few drinks."

"To be fair, I am in college. And it's midterms," you said.

"You always have an excuse," he whined.

You went to contradict him but stopped. As much as you hated it, he did have a point. You didn't really care too much for going out, but that's what he liked doing. You liked quiet nights in, he liked parties and drinking. While it could be draining for you guys to hang out, he did help to balance you out. And, although you two were still close, you hadn't gotten the chance to see Chase in a while. You weighed your options, staring at the countless history books and papers littering your desk. While it would be nice to see him, your paper was due in 72 hours.

"So what'd ya say?" He asked again. "I'll make sure it's a relatively low key night. Just a couple drinks."
