The Teacher Who Stepped Forward
One late night after working furiously on a research paper on the future of public education, credential candidate Willie Mayket stepped out of the Chapman campus into the parking lot and was struck by lightning while talking on his cell phone, checking his PDA, logging off his laptop, and turning on his MP3 player.
In a flash he was transported to 2025 and found himself standing in front of large high school. Willie felt strange, unusually energetic and healthy. It is then that he realized that he had been turned into a 14-year-old boy. He looked down at his PDA. There he read this odd message. It read, "You will return to 2005 at the end of the school day. You may use this time to learn all you can about public education in 2025. Where you go, what you do, and how much you learn is all up to you."
Somewhere a friendly bell tones. It sounds much like a tropical bird. Students stream past you and go inside. What do you do?
