Trace Evidence (Glass)

Late one evening, Officer Shiffert received a call to investigate a brawl at the nearby pub. She arrives to find a man lying motionless in the gravel parking lot outside, surrounded by broken glass and his own blood, specifically in the head area. Officer Shiffert took a cursory look at the surroundings. A windowframe near the man was almost entirely devoid of glass, with only bits and pieces of the original window still in place. By searching for a form of identification, Officer Shiffert identified the deceased as 22-year old Viktor Naumovski, a graduate student at nearby Duquesne University. He had a significant amount of damage done to his head, indicating that those injuries probably led to his death. At this point, Officer Shiffert cordoned off the area and now needed to decide what to do next. Obviously, there were only two choices: do something or do nothing.
