A New Beginning
Sirens blared in your ears as you watched chaos unfold on the monitors in front of you. The exterior of your ship was melting away, each little chunk of metal a vivid orange as it floated off into the void of space. You could hear the other six members of your crew screaming orders or just plain screaming. From where you stood on the command deck you could see each of your crew members rushing around doing various jobs. The air in hull of the ship smelled of chemicals and the humidity felt as if it were trying to leach all of the moisture out of your body. The monitor began to flash a vibrant crimson as the ships sensors detected an armada of enemy ships, you heard your lieutenant Ajax call to you, "Captain Sliver we need to abandon the ship, if we stay any longer we will either be captured or worst!"
You watched out of the port windows as sleek metallic ships sliced their way through empty space towards your cruiser. You knew you would have to abandon ship but you didn't know if their where any habitable bodies. Ajax's voice rang out again, "We have to leave now, if we don't we will die."
You screamed back, "I don't know if their are ant habitable bodies in the area! If we leave now their is a good chance we will die in the void!"
"Its better than at the hands of them! Who the hell knows who they are anyway?"
The thoughts in your head ran a million miles an hour, it could be anything pirates, sentient life, haywire AI drones but I had to make a call or die if I can't.
