The Foreign Rogue
You're a little over twenty-five, having had your birthday just a few weeks ago. In the background, there's the normal bustle of a village kitchen, as expected during the afternoon. Since you're sort of phased out, you're shoved roughly out of the way and you snap out of it.
"Hey, girl. Wake up, why don't ya? We've got a full-house tonight, and if you're gonna keep acting like that you may just find yourself on the streets again," The man who spoke winked at you and continued working, carrying his basket of vegetables to the sink. Just as you're about to get back to work, he flings a bundle of carrots your way. "How about helpin' me with some of this? I'm not superman, you know."
You blink, confused, but manage to save the carrots from landing in a puddle of who-knows-what. You have your own duties to do, but the man was kind of cute and looked only a few years older then yourself. Your future looks slim working where you are, so wonder if things may pick up with him. You've worked in the kitchen for a few weeks, but haven't gotten well acquainted with the rest of the employees, preferring to keep to yourself. You have 5 choices:
- ...take a bite of the carrots and go back to your own duties, keeping the carrots for a snack. It's better then what you're going to have for dinner here, anyway.
- ...resist your curiosity and walk over to the man, tap him on the shoulder and politely hand him back the carrots.
- ...decide to throw your duties away shrugging. You walk over to the sink and turn on the faucet to the left to wash the carrots, grinning and winking occasionally at the man.
- ...overcome your sense of duty and step over to the man, smiling and turning on the faucet on the left to wash the carrots for him.
- ...frown angrily and roll up your sleeves, preparing yourself for an fight. You throw the carrots on the sink countertop by the man and stomp angrily towards him, ranting, "What do you think you're doing? You think I'll just .. DO your duties for you!?"
