Suddenly, element powers!

One night, after a completely uninteresting day, that you are floating through a dark black void. Suddenly, a light appears before you and pulls you in. The next thing you know, you are in a room with no doors or windows. In front of you is a table. On it, is a perfect orb of clear glass. Upon touching it, it begins to glow. You gain the knowledge, that millions of others are having the exact same experience. You also know that you must kill these people though you don't know why. Only that they will try and kill you first. Most importantly, if you kill them, it will make you more powerful then before.
