Instinct kicks in. You reach for and pull out your daggers as you spin around and get low. Your fast actions catch the man off guard, but you see that it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Surprised, the man drops the stack of wood he was carrying, one of the heavier pieces thumping down hard on his foot. He curses and hops on one foot like an idiot for a few seconds.

Eventually he recovers. "What the hell are you doing there? You scared the shit out of me!"
