Lost in a Good Book- A Child's Tale by KatieWroteIt
Rebecca opened her eyes almost afraid to look she had been playing long enough to miss being home, and a short enough time to be in trouble. Everything was dark. Her eyes searched the darkness for a sign of light, and fell on an exit sign glowing red in the distance. She was safe- at least she thought she was safe. She felt the seat beneath her. She was in the library still. Unfortunately no one else was around.

Rebecca stood and walked through the dark aisles. No one had missed her? She had come home, and no one cared? Rebecca couldn't find a librarian anywhere. Her brother seemed to have gone home as well. She walked to the front door and looked out at the darkness.

Not knowing what else to do, Rebecca walked over to the telephone and tried to call her house. The phone didn't work right. She sat down filled with despair. This was worse than being lost in the mall, or being at home with her mother and brothers fighting. Rebecca began to cry very quietly.

"Rebecca Howell?" a man's voice asked.

Rebecca looked up to see a man in a blue suit with a flashlight looking down at her. She stood up quickly and nodded. He was a policeman, and she knew that meant she would be safe.

"Your family has been looking everywhere for you little miss," he said kneeling beside her. He took her hand and led her out of the building.

Rebecca watched in amazement as two cars came tearing into the parking lot in close succession. She felt astonished to realize that her father was in one, and her mother in the other. Even her brothers had come to find her. Everyone was running toward her.

For a moment Rebecca thought surely she was going to hear it. No one reprimanded her though. Suddenly Rebecca had her whole family all together, and no matter what the arguments they had with one another. They still had one thing in common: love. They loved her, and she loved them. Rebecca felt complete for the first time in ages.

She would always love the library and come back many times after that night. Her life would be full of books and adventures. She had Infinite Love for Books.

***I'd like to invite everyone to add from this point forward. If your favorite children's book was excluded unfairly put it in and continue Rebecca's book adventure. I wanted a happy ending for Rebecca at home, but her library adventures could with your help become truly infinite. WRITE ON!!!***
