You stab the nearest wolf in the eye and it backs off in a howl of pain, opening a narrow path of escape that you capitalize on. You rush forward, bouncing off the side of another wolf and then charging out of the cave and into the valley outside.

You move quicker than the wolves can react, following a trail that leads out of the valley and around a bend. The trail hugs the side of the mountain for some time and you are careful not to slip, least you fall from the hieghts to your undoubted death.

After some time, you stop for breath and realise that the wolves have not given chase. Apparently the body of the other contestant is enough to satisfy their hunger.

You yawn and look up at the sky. The moon is on the decline, but morning is still a few hours away. You need to sleep, or you will be a clumsy oaf certain to perish.

You press on through the night, following the winding mountain trail through valleys and cliff sides until you reach a small patch of wood. You stop beneath the evergreens and take a few deep breaths.

You see light on through the trees, a flickering glow of fire. You smell the smoke in the air, and the scent of meat cooking.
