Extend the Story - Add a Room

The House On The Corner by calia386
You reach over and switch on the lamp. The room becomes brighter and you are able to see how perfectly clean the room looks. You wipe at the table and your hand is clean, not a sign of dust. All the furniture looks brand new, without a hint of age. The curtains throw you in confusion. There is not a rip or a sign of age on them anywhere. The furniture all looks fairly modern and you notice that there is a newspaper beside the lamp that you hadn't seen before now that is dated only a few days ago. There is obviously electricity, so who is paying the bill? You walk around the room when your eyes turn to the photos on the bookshelf. They seem to stand out among the newer items, being old and faded. Just then, the lights go out, and you are thrown in sudden darkness. It takes you a moment to adjust to the darkness, but when you do, everything looks odd to you. The furniture looks older and the room starts to smell putrid. You could try the front door and see if it will open from the inside, or you could continue toward the back of the house.
