The House On The Corner by calia386
You don't have much time or enough thought to turn and run, so you freeze where you stand. The large shadow seems much smaller than you first thought and the most you can do is bend down on your knees, maybe you could trip whoever it is somehow. At first, you are thrown off guard and you fall on your butt, you then feel the wetness sliding up your cheek and along your nose and forehead. You must of been hit by something, you can feel the warm wetness of blood, but you feel no pain. You reach out and grab hold of some large fluffy ball and your first thought is that it's a dog, and by the small yips your hearing, it must be true.
Your eyes start adjusting to the darkness, you can make out a brown dog, a golden retriever, but how did it get in here? Your about to get up, when you hear another noise coming from straight ahead. You feel somewhat protected with the dog, but he licked you down and didn't quite attack you. You could just stay where you are and take your chances with the dog, or you could crawl back to the door and scoot your way onto the porch, then leave.
Take your chances with the dog
