Extend the Story - Add a Room

You continue further into the cave, towards the flilckering orange glow ahead of you. At first you assume it is fire, but you smell no smoke. You can't quite figure it out. You sniff at the air and strain your eyes but are unable to find any real indication of what it could be. Cautiously, you press on.

You actually laugh aloud when you reach the source of your caution. The light source is merely a lantern. While you are relieved that it is nothing dangerous, you are more than a little annoyed at the pointlessness of this "prize".

You take back your misgivings when you follow its light to a shadowy corner of the chamber where the large shape of a crate lyes nestled out of the path of casual passerbyes.

After a little work, you manage to pry the crate open to reveal a set of climbing gear. You wonder briefly at the reasoning of putting such a small item in such a large crate, but quickly turn your focus to the usefulness of the climbing gear.

You look around and see that the cave continues to decend in darkness below. You could also turn back the way you came.
