Extend the Story - Add a Room

You walk over to the body and search his person, finding nothing of any use save for a canteen and a half. You open his pack and find the expected knife and lighter along with two spherical object with pins in them. Grenades.

You take the grenades and slip them into your own pack before shouldering the bag, grabbing your club, and continuing along the trail.

The automated voice from above announces another death just before the path leads you directly to the mouth of a cavern.

The cave itself is dark within save for a flicker of light far in the distance. You look around, unsure if entering is a wise idea. Maybe you should just turn back...

But you already know what's behind you. If you go back you either have to navigate that gap in the mountainside path or find yet another intersection of trails. The real question is not what is behind, but what lies ahead?
