Extend the Story - Add a Room

Deciding that it would be best not to turn your back on the fool with explosives, you decide to charge right at him and run down the path ahead of the avalanche.

Your charge seems to pull him out of his trance and he runs ahead of you, his long legs giving him a slight natural advantage in the area of speed, but your agility and sure footing allows you to catch up to him in no time.

You take a dagger and plunge it into his back as you run. He takes a few stagering steps before falling face down to the ground beside you, your dagger still stuck in his back.

If you had more time you would wrench your dagger free and loot his body, but the deafening rumble above and behind you tells you that there is no time for anything but running.

You come to a steep wall at the side of the mountain trail and decide to lean in close to the rock while the avalanche falls over you. The snow and debris completely pass you up, flying over the mountain side far above your head.

When the danger of the avalanche subsides you realise that it is already nightfall. The stars are above in the sky, following no constellations that you can recognize. The moon seems a bit brighter than the one viewed from Earth, but that may work to your advantage. As you catch your breath and your body cools down, you are reminded of just how cold it is.

You left the cave far behind, perhaps an hours walk. You have minimal protection from the wind where you stand, but the cold still whips at your skin.
