Your hands reach instinctively for the hilts of your daggers as you take a few cautious steps backwards.

The tall and lanky man continues to advance on you, his features becoming more clear. He looks frightened and cold, but what worries you the most is the look of deterination on his face.

"That's far enough," You tell him.

He doesn't seem to hear you and continues to aproach. It is almost as though the man is mindless.

"I said that's far enough," You reiterate. "You stop right there."

He seems to hear you this time and discontinues his advancement on your person. He is a good twenty yards away from you when he does stop at last.

His arm goes back and he launches the rock at you. Your muscles tense at first, prepared to dodge his throw, but his aim is poor and the object bounces twice on the ground to roll at your feet.

You look down at the stone to find that it is no stone at all but an explosive device known as a grenade. You try to estimate how long it will be before it explodes when you realise the futility of that thought.

At a time like this you cannot think, only act.
