Extend the Story - Add a Room

"What's wrong, Asahi?" you ask, giving a concerned frown. Maybe you're being a little pushy, but you're very concerned about how troubled your 'ward' is acting.

"Hm?" Asahi glances sideways at you, but doesn't smile - not that she ever *does* smile. Not that you know of, anyway. She shrugs slightly. "Nothing much," she admits. "I've just been thinking about my mother a bit... Do you think she's all right?"

You frown, turning your attention to the path a moment. You know that Asahi's mother kind of turned against her daughter after the death of her husband. For some reason, she always blamed the child for his death.

Asahi glances sideways at you again. "Do you think I should go and see her?" she asks. "I... I don't really want her to be unhappy... Well, more so than she already is." She glances down a moment. "Maybe... her feelings have changed over all this time?"

What are you going to say to her?

Lie to her in an attempt to make her feel better?
