You roll out of the way of the bear just before it comes crashing down and grab hold of your club. You turn around with your club in hand just in time to see the animal charging at you.

It brings its jaws in close, too fast for you to swing the club at him, and it knocks you to the ground, taking a chunk from your earlobe with its teeth.

You stand back up and decide to approach the bear like your ancestors, stepping in close to it and grappling. It slams you against a wall of the cavern, but you use it's momentum to swing it around as well. When it comes in with its jaws again you go for its eyes, squishing the eye jelly out with your fingers as the beast roars in pain.

As it wanders blindly around the cavern, searching for a way out, you pick your club up once more and wack it over and over again on the head. It's eventually still and you are able to return to your rest at the fire side.

You touch your ear briefly. It hurts, but you'll live without the protruding lower lobe. You'll eat well today, you decide, planning to dine on bear.

After skinning the bear, you cook up a choice portion and begin to eat. While you were skinning the bear, you also got the idea to use its hide to wrap yourself in. You're going to have to leave this cave eventually and the bear's furry thick hide will protect you from the cold a lot better.

You fall asleep briefly at the fire side and wake up an hour or so later. The fire is dwindled down to a few weal flames peaking out from behind hot embers. The warmth is still there, but it will diminish soon.

When the flames disappear entirely and the red embers grey, you stand up with your bear fur around you and walk out of the cavern into the bitter cold of the mountain range.
