Extend the Story - Add a Room

You charge down the path, away from the source of attack, moving as fast as your feet will carry you. You're still not entirely sure if you had tripped some sort of trap or if someone was shooting the darts at you, but you haul ass none the less; no need to take chances.

A little while later you hear footsteps crashing through the foliage along the side of the path and know that it was no mechanical trap. You glance behind you and see an athletic looking young lady gaining ground on you.

Before you, the path suddenly takes turns to the left and right and you find yourself at the banks of a river, a meadow in the rain forest on the other side. The water is moving fast, but rocks jutting out of the water make a river crossing treacherous but possible. To your left the path goes down hill into a jungle, and to your right the jungle appears to clear, though the right is an uphill trek.

Go right, up hill towards the denser wood
