Extend the Story - Add a Room

You head to the reception desk and climb over it to get in the back. There's no door to get to it in the lobby. Probably some kind of weird requirement since the place was an institution.

You're standing in a mess of papers. They're all over the floor behind the desk. There's some equipment set into the wall that has a few glowing lights on it. They're green and seem to indicate whether or not the buttons covering the equipment have been pushed or not. Maybe the lights are what's keeping the room lit so oddly. There's a door in the wall opposite you, probably leading to a staff hall. You push a few buttons but they seem to do nothing, none of the lights even change.

Looking around more you see that there is a phone sitting on a table in the corner. You dash to it and pick up the receiver, holding it to your ear. There's no dial tone, not even static. It is plugged in. you pull on the cord and in a short matter of time you find the end. It looks like it's been cut. The end's not frayed at all.

There's got to be another phone in the place. Maybe there's some kind of switchboard in here.
