Humanities weakness.
You freeze.
Your heartbeat thunders in your ears as the massive, eyeless creature below remains motionless, its head still tilted upward as if sensing something.
You hold your breath, body stiff with fear. The cold metal of the vent presses against your bleeding fingers, the sharp pain barely registering over the sheer terror flooding your veins.
Then—
A screech.
Not from the creature beneath you.
From outside.
The sound is inhuman, deafening, piercing through the air like a dying animal. The chainsaw roars again, a violent, mechanical howl that drowns out everything else.
The yellow-skinned creature convulses violently, its entire body twitching like it’s been shocked by electricity. Then, with no warning—
It moves.
In an instant, it lunges forward, crashing against the metal walls beneath the vent with terrifying speed. Its long, twisted arms swing wildly as it vanishes into the darkness of the facility, its footsteps rapid and erratic, fading into the distance.
You stay perfectly still, drenched in cold sweat.
It’s gone.
Or at least, you think it is.
You wait. A minute passes. Then two.
Silence.
Your muscles slowly relax. Your shaking hands press against the vent walls, preparing to move forward again. You survived. Whatever that thing was, it’s chasing after something else now.
You let out a quiet, shaky exhale.
Then—pain.
A sudden, blinding agony rips through your stomach.
You gasp, choking on your own breath as something warm spills down your lap. Your eyes snap downward—
A massive, clawed hand has burst through the bottom of the vent, its jagged fingers buried deep into your abdomen.
Your body seizes, blood gushing from the wound as the creature’s head slowly emerges beneath you.
It’s staring.
Its faceless, eyeless head tilts, almost curious as it listens to your ragged, choking breaths.
Then, without warning—
It yanks.
Your entire midsection tears open, intestines and gore spilling out as you let out a wet, strangled scream.
Your vision blurs. Your limbs twitch violently as your own blood floods the vent, dripping onto the floor below in thick, sickening splatters.
The last thing you see—
Is the creature standing below you, your torn guts hanging from its claws.
Then—
Everything fades to black.
