Extend the Story - Add a Room

The jacket is a fine leather construction, with an elaborate chinese dragon design embossed on the back in gold - while his room is an obvious pigsty, your brother does take care of those personal affectations he uses every day. The jacket is part of his daily "uniform", consisting of black jeans, a black t-shirt with the indecipherable logo of some obscure and possibly dead black metal band, and the jacket. The pockets bulge invitingly.

Finding a (relatively) clear section of floor, you upturn the jacket and dump the contents of his pockets all over the place. Now the floor resembles everything else, you muse to yourself, and begin to look through the deposited bits and bobs.

However, amidst the pocket change, car keys, matchbooks and decrepit scraps of paper bearing notes or phone numbers, is an item that catches your immediate attention and holds it in rapt fear. It's something you could have never imagined your brother owning, let alone keeping beside him at all times, and the mere fact that it exists in your family brings shock and terror.

It's a switchblade, caked in blood.
