Everything Went Dark
It was almost like they just blinked.
Elliana and Emma were back in that hospital room.
The two heard footsteps outside.
"Addie? Are you okay?"
It was Jack.
So what was the point of any of that?!
They saved their friends.
Okay, whatever.
Actually, when they looked around the room, Addie, Evie, and Jordan were gone.
Weird, but also very concerning.
The door started to creak open.
Emma still had the laser gun in her hand.
As soon as the door opened and Jack stepped inside, Emma fired the laser gun.
It missed.
Jack kicked the door open.
He looked really confused and when he saw Emma with a laser gun, he looked panicked.
"What is happening?!"
Well, the answer is quite simple.
Jack had already been saved, which means he can die now.
Emma shot again, this time hitting him right in the heart.
He died.
There wasn't any remote to use to rewind and get out of there, so Emma and Elliana had to run out of there.
The exit was surprisingly close, though, so that wasn't a problem.
They found the exit and jumped out of the UFO.
They ran back onto campus, and to their surprise, there was everyone.
Except Jack.
They had saved everyone...
Everyone who hadn't tried to manipulate their friends into becoming an alien and sending horrible alien spiders to Earth to kill all humans, of course.
Elliana and Emma were asked why they were late.
They shrugged.

They shrugged again.

As if they hadn't heard Evie, the two sat with everyone on the lunch bench and joined their conversation.
It was a good day, and nothing had gone wrong.
