Everything Went Dark
Her eyelids were getting heavy, but Tatum knew that if she closed her eyes that she would pass out. Even though she was stuck in a smoking car surrounded by the bodies of her friends who hadn't abandoned her, everything felt oddly...nice. Relaxing, even. She didn't feel any pain. Tatum looked up at the sky. It was so pretty. The sun was providing the perfect amount of warmth. The plants and grass around her were a beautiful green color. The blue sky and the fluffy clouds moved in a light haze. Tatum felt happy. She wanted to stare at this view forever.
It was perfec-B O O M !
The car exploded.
As Tatum was knocked onto ground a bit away from the car, she was slammed onto the ground. She was laying on her back, facing the sky. It was smoky and dark. The sun was gone. Tatum felt cold. The plants and grass around her that hadn't caught on fire were covered with ash, dust, or blood. Out of the corner of her eye, Tatum could see the car that hit them. It was burning too--at least the part of the car that wasn't blown to bits. Two people were inside. They were dead. And despite this, Tatum felt happy. She wanted to stare at this view forever. It was beautiful.
