Everything Went Dark

She needed to blink, and blink she did. Her blinking snapped the guards out of their petrified trance. It didn't make the guards automatically brave again, they were both shaking still, but one held a gun up at her, aiming for her heart. Jordan attempted to continue the stare, but it did not work. She should have tried to keep her eyes open just a little longer. The guard pulled the trigger and she was shot down, her eyes still wide open. She was trying to stare at them even as she was dying. Even though her eyes were open, everything went dark.
