Everything Went Dark
If he was going to save someone, it might as well be Addie. Even though she was the farthest away, Addie was the only unsecured and uninjured one. Jack sprinted past Jordan, who was struggling in a guard's grip, and Jennan, who was unmoving on the floor of the podium. Jack knelt by Addie. "Any ideas?" He asked, sounding very frantic. "Hide under the podium?" She suggested. It was the best idea they had. They jumped off of the podium and dove under the podium. A few others were hiding there, but they paid no attention to Jack and Addie.
The guard who was holding Jordan captive somehow got her on the guillotine. There was a sudden and jarring silence as the blade sliced her head off. The two couldn't see it, but they heard it. They were underneath it, after all. Loud cheers replaced the silence. Then the crowds tried to swarm the guillotine to kill some other rebellion shooters in the crowd. There were too many people on the podium. It started to splinter. Everyone underneath the podium started to frantically scoot out. Some did make it out safe, but the majority, which included Jack and Addie, were stuck. They looked around for any way out, but there was none. The podium fell. Everything went dark.
