As you have probably put together from the multiple examples, the body frequently has multiple different grades of antioxidant enzymes, which each degrade specific radicals into less and less reactive states. e.g. superoxide dismutase degrades O2- to hydrogen peroxide, which can then be processed into water and O2 by catalase or a glutathione peroxidase.
