The siege against humanity

You and your team decide to rush this call and go help the other call, the driver slams on the gas again and pulls up right next to the tower, me and the other man holding the ammo hop out and place it on the first steps of the tower, you look back and see the squadron, they are still at least 12 kilometres away still, but I can see people falling left and right. We rush back into the buggy to get out of the rain of bullets, the driver gets us out of the field quickly but as we're going through the trails back to base, we tip the buggy and just in time to because out my window I see a couple of mechs walking towards us, and with no way to get out or flip it, we're a goner.
