The Events At Northwood City

The tree looms above you and you wonder how you didn't notice it. Its branches are thick but they look like they're decaying and old. The leaves are wrinkled but still green, and there are lots of bugs swarming it.
You quickly check if you have any insects crawling on you, and sigh in relief when you don't find any.
Looking around, you find that you've been walking the wrong way all this time. Oh dear. Now you're really going to be late. You dash towards the east where your job is. Better hurry!
Your day turns out to be pretty uneventful. Mr. Yin thanked you for coming and was worried you weren't going to show up. You chatted with your sorta-friend-that's-not-very-close-with-you-but-still-friendly co-worker about Sandy and learned that she wasn't coming back. You wonder if you should leave too. The strange occurrences seem to happen more and more often in a single day. Your partner listens to your worries and admits that they're worried too. They offer to walk home with you and you accept. The more the merrier. Besides, if there ARE ghosts and vampires and werewolves around, you're going to need to have bigger numbers.
As you're walking back to your apartment, your friend asks if you heard something. You shake your head as their phone dings with a text. When they check their phone, they let out a horrified gasp and you peer over their shoulder to read the message. It says that Mr. Yin was murdered by an unknown creature. Tears of shock come to your eyes. He was a good man. Who would kill him?
After saying farewell to your co-worker, you sit on your bed, wondering. That's really weird…
