Ghost Pirates of the Sea-erra Madre

Below decks you find a strange looking statue of a person holding a harpoon.

At the foot of the harpooner is a jewel-encrusted whale. It must be worth a fortune.

You reach for it, but are held back by Jaxon.

"Look, it says something on the base of the statue."

Looking closer you see text that reads "Only those who have ne'er touched a harpoon may take the wonderous golden whale and escape the terrible curse of the sea."

"Why, that's perfect!" you proclaim. "I've never used a harpoon gun in my life!"

"Something about this seems a little fishy," says Jaxon.

"Nonsense," you insist. Seizing the jewel-encrusted whale.

Nothing happens to you and you return to your boat and order them to head for shore. You move to the desert and, except for when you're recruited by the Special Intelligence Group to rescue a marine scientist and recover a whale song tape from the clutches of the KGB, you're never in danger of using or even touching your harpoon gun. Some days you don't even remember that harpoons exist.
