Ethan's eyes widen again. "Really? Wow." he says quietly. He turns to you and begins to apologize, but you raise up a hand to stop him and quietly walk out of the conversation. this is how your first love ends.
You hear Emma tutting from behind your back. "What an idiot." she says, and then proceeds to kiss Ethan some more.

You have lost all hope in life. Emma was the one you yearned for, and she let you down. What was the guarantee that this would not happen again?
