Errant by AnonAnon
You're not usually one for religion, so it's not often you find yourself in a place like this. You decide to walk all the way down the aisle to get a better look at where the "magic" happens. There is a large stone table carved in a circle. From the front it looks like a solid piece of granite, but as you walk around the back you see there are drawers wet into the post ad well as the thick table-top itself. Curiosity gets the better of yourself and you try the drawers, they open with little resistance but reveal that they are all empty.

"Find what you are looking for?" a voice calls from your side. You nearly jump out of your skin to see a tall thin man wearing long dark robes smile with his hands behind his back. A holy symbol hangs from a cord around his neck.

You fumble an apology before stepping away from the altar. "Are you the priest here?" you ask.

"Ah, yes I tend to this place and to my flock here." He smiles and takes a step closer. You can see that he's much younger than you thought at first glance. Maybe only a year or so older than you. His skin is a warm brown that clashes with the cold stark white of his hair. His eyes are somewhat hidden behind a pair of round glasses that are slightly tinted and almost make his eyes seem red. "And I can see you are not among my flock. Where do you come from."

"Proweth City, to the south." you have no problem telling him.

"Ah, Proweth City, I've never been there myself, but I've heard the air is quite temperate there." He touches the tip of his chin and chuckles. "Not at all like our Crossing here." He sits on the nearest pew and offers a place beside him to you. Once you take it the two of you begin talking about your life and your quest. Something about this man makes it easy to open up to him. You tell him your name and he asks that you call him Shep or Shepard.

Shep is a very gracious host and when he hears you need a place to stay he offers up the church with ease. So kind. And there's something about him that sucks you in. Maybe it's his eyes, you keep finding yourself staring at them, after all. You've never met a holy man so...enchanting before. And not to mention handsome. His wiry frame underneath those dark clothes...but you keep coming back to those eyes.

You talked for maybe minutes, maybe hours, you aren't sure. He's just so easy to talk to. (And so pretty to look at.) Before long the exhaustion of your journey starts to catch up with you as you blink wearily. But you try to keep your eyes open, if only to look deeper into his.

"Oh, you've some such a long way, weary traveler." Shep murmurs in your ear, your barely realize you've begun to slump against his shoulder. "I can help you rest even more..."

Your consciousness is fading, fading away. You feel as though you wouldn't mind falling asleep against Shep, despite how cold he feels. And if you'd been left like that, you easily would have. But here's this little pinch...and it turns into a piercing feeling along your neck and you sober up fast. With what movement you can you crane your neck to seen Shepard's head on you and you realize his mouth is on you skin.

He pulls back and you can see his lips are red with your blood. His glasses are gone now, revealing eyes that match his mouth. He smiles with fanged teeth. "You taste so good, can I have a little more?"
