Extend the Story - Add a Room

Errant by AnonAnon
Surely there's somewhere that could just offer you a warm place to stay for one night. You sigh and thank the Innkeeper for her time before setting out into the cold once more.

Despite how early it is in the after noon, there is no sun to be seen. Dark gray clouds cover the entirety of the sky and guessing by the number of streetlamps and braziers set up around the town, you're guessing there is never much sun here. All the same there are people going to and fro as if the cold is little more than a nip in the air. You meet a few friendly faces as you ask around for somewhere to stay. Luckily you find there is indeed a church to the north of the village. From the sound of it that seems to be your best bet if you can't stay at the inn. You thank the townsfolk and start to make your way up.

It isn't long before you start to recognize the spire of the building as your destination. It isn't the largest cathedral you've ever seen, but some of its stone work could rival that of those you've seen in the capitol. The gargoyles atop the roof are the most striking with their sharp claws and their bat like faces. It must be a beautiful building when fully drenched in sunlight, but in the shadows it almost becomes eerie. It isn't helped by the fact that through the windows you see no hearth light only dim flicking of distant candles.

Still, you push on the door and step inside. It's warm, but not nearly as much as the inn. Still anything to block the wind is welcome in your mind. In the low light you can seen the pews lined and facing towards the central altar. Candle adorn it and other smaller alcoves embedded along the walls. There don't seem to be any parishioners or people of the cloth. There doesn't seem to be anyone inside.

There are a few places to explore here, or you can try to see if there are any offices with any people. Or maybe you just want to make yourself at home.
