There is absolutely no way this isn't just a harmless spell, something meant to slow down the Champions. You keep walking.
Suddenly, something big blocks out the moon above you, and you barely make out the shape of a giant, hairy spider before it falls onto you, crushing you beneath it before you can grab your wand.
The spider's pincers are right in front of your face, and its beady, red eyes are full of hunger.
Right before it can tear your head off, the spider is blasted by several stunning spells. It falls over, clutching its face, and you feel a set of hands dragging you up into the sky. The people monitoring the maze on brooms have saved you, at the expense of you losing the game. You see one of your rivals has met the same fate as you, and you are brought out of the maze. YOU LOSE!
