When you reach Star Base Ishtria, you accept your separation pay from the Astral Navy and hop on the first shuttle down to the planet's surface. Going back to your homeworld of Usul has never seemed like an appealing option, because you know you have no future in your family's gava rice fields.
Instead you hope to find your calling on Ishtria, a prosperous world where many species have found a way to live together peacefully. Surely there must be an opportunity for you in a place like this. You know very little about the planet, other than the fact that the various offworld species--including humans--who have made Ishtria their home live in beautiful cities all along the main continent, whereas the native Ishtrians are content to remain in their marshy villages, because of their amphibious biology.
As you descend from the space port toward the surface in the transport shuttle, you have your first look at your new home, with its fertile valleys and oceans teeming with life. The shuttle lands on its designated pad in one of the larger cities, and the passengers disembark. You disappear into a vast sea of people, setting your life story on a new path of your own choosing.
