The Sanguine and Blackbeard's Cutlass

Not wanting to do anything stupid, you bide your time. If you acted too suddenly, you might get your friends killed.

Blackbeard opens the cage to his left and pulls a gagged Freddy out. He holds him steady with one hand and receives an obsidian knife in the other from a robed figured.

"The blade is thirsty! How shall we quench its thirst?" he yells to the crowd.
"With his blood!" the mob screams back.

Blackbeard throws Freddy on top of the altar with one hand. Freddy tries to struggle, but can't resist against the strength holding him down. The knife plunges into his upper belly, just below the rib cage. Freddy's eyes go wide in the sudden pain. The gag muffles any sort of scream he let loose. Blackbeard carves a deep incision and tosses the knife onto the altar. His other hand plunges into the wound. His hand returns with Freddy's dripping heart. Blackbeard tosses the body aside creating room on the altar. He slowly grinds Freddy's heart against the blade of the cutlass until it's separated into two halves.

"No!" you shout unable to control yourself. You just witnessed your best friend's heart ripped from his chest.

All eyes in the room turn to you.

"Well what are you waiting for?" Blackbeard yells. "Kill him!"

The robed figures in the room rush toward your position. Frenzied by the ritual, they attack with a strength you've never seen before. Their ceremonial knives are simple, yet they use them effectively. Instead of rushing one by one, they mob up in attempt to overwhelm you. The gathering makes Victoria's spells land easier, but their numbers are too many. Jack and William face the same fate. One knife makes its way through your defense and lands in your side. More are quickly followed after. Your last memory is a mob of robed figures furiously stabbing. Your quest ends prematurely.
