The Prom

As you once again walk through the doors, you pass two security guards who stare you down. You are sure you are showing all the signs of a shoplifter. You imagine them stopping you. You hold your breath. They didn't move. As your coming up the stairs to Forever 21, you see the manager watching you. You want to cry. You want to let it out. You try to keep a straight face, but you can't stop the tears. The manager looks at you as you begin to plead. You had what you were going to say ready, but she stops you. She takes the dress and vanishes into the store. You feel even more guilty because she had taken pity on you.
