The Weekend of a Competitive Dancer

The pain gets so bad that tears start to roll down your face. The teacher notices once you walk up to her. At that point you are full on bawling. The pain is stabbing into your back, like a knife into skin. Just standing there, walking/moving, or just the touch of your fingers onto your back and spine was excruciating.

At first with a calming voice, she comforted me by making it sound like everything was going to be okay. "You should not dance at all for this week, but hey, it's not that big of a deal. By next week, as long as you don't do anything, you will be good as new. Plus, not competing this weekend isn't the end of the world.", she exclaimed.

You knew it wasn't the end of the world, but the fact that you would not be with the people you loved the most while doing what you loved the most made you depressed.
