A European Mystery: Ou Est La Jaconde?
After an early flight, and a long cab ride home, you walk inside your house for the first time in what seems to be forever. Little pitter-pattering footsteps scurry down the stairs, and your two kids greet you warmly with a big hug. Being home feels perfect, and celebrating your successful trip with your kids is the perfect way to go.
The following Monday, you return to work. Your boss calls you into his office, and says it’s very important. You walk in and take a seat across from him.
In a low, serious voice he states
“Congratulations on solving the case of La Jaconde! I have heard very much about your strong methods, and am very impressed with you. I would like to promote you to Sheriff. Please take the time you need to consider this offer, but I will need to know by this Friday. Have a nice day, and again, well done.”
At this point, you are in disbelief! Happiness overwhelms you and you agree to his offer. You couldn’t be happier now that you have a great job, you are spending time with your kids, you caught a criminal, and helped to restore the most famous painting ever. Great job!
