escape from death
The rope is a thick, tan piece of twine that stretches up to the top of the staircase. There were knots tied in it every five feet or so, but it was difficult to get your feet up high enough to latch onto them. You are not a skilled climber, and the rope's rough texture slowly sands the palms of your hands, leaving them blistered and hoarse. You are struggling up the rope when you hear a small tearing sound. You cling to the rope, petrified, and your breathing becomes short and panicked. you slowly look up and realize the top of the rope is frayed, and it cannot support your weight much longer before breaking. What's more, you look down and see the stairs and the floor have vanished into thin air. When the rope snaps, you will fall into an empty abyss and there is no way to get to safety in time. You try frantically to climb up the rope but in a split second you hear the terrifying ripping sound. You fall to the Earth, and your previous assumption of the never ending fall was appallingly false. You crash to the ground, and restart your eternal loop of death and pain.
