Extend the Story - Add a Room

You decide to go to the outside of the house to see if the light is everywhere. If it's not, you decide you'll enter (or re-enter) the house, and then explore more. If it is, you'll decide to bring fellow survivors with you so you can decide what to do.
Surprisingly, they have no fence, so your lack of physical ability isn't going to matter. The house is large, so it takes a minute to walk to the back.
There is no other light on the first floor, and it seems to be pitch black and in ruins. You begin questioning how someone could live there. The second floor is different though. There are blinds on every window except for one, but if you look close enough you can see signs of civilisation, and possibly even light from other rooms.
This must be the room that they keep watch to make sure that they're safe, but there seems to be no one there currently.
You don't want to test your luck, so you go back to the front of the house and hide on their doorstep.
Due to not wanting to scare off the people, you choose to bring one person with you.
