The shield deflects the oncoming Consu arrow, and the soldier hurls the shield at the Consu's head like Captain America. The shield was in fact containing razor sharp, microscopic spikes along the edges, and the Consu's head is cleaved off. All three Consu are defeated, and the messenger returns with a pendulum shaped object. After explaining that it was technology that could reanimate and control dead soldiers, the CDF was soon to use it in their losing battle against the Rraey, quickly shifting the tide of the war and claiming control of the planet.
