Homicide and Havoc on Halloween
You hear a piercing scream from behind the car blocking your view when realization suddenly hits you: Octavia was hit by one of the cars. You frantically wait on the other side until the light turns red and all the cars move clear out of the way. You dash to the middle of the road, looking for Octavia, hoping that she would still be alive. You look everywhere, but Octavia is nowhere to be seen. As your face turns red-hot with anger and sorrow, salty tears begin to stream down your cheeks. Octavia is gone. Forever. Scarlett is also sobbing beside you, but she knew what to do. Scarlett dials the police and explains to them the situation you are in. A crowd starts to gather around you, but you wearily push through, all the way to your house. Scarlett follows behind you and neither of you speak to each other for the entire way home. When you finally reach the front door, you begin to unlock the door, visualizing the dreary conversation you will have with your mother when you open the door. You tell Scarlett to go home, so she does, obediently, without speaking to you.
One month has passed and the police has not found Octavia. Her story has passed all throughout the news, and people have been crowding you with questions everywhere you go. The funeral was two weeks ago, and you cannot bear to think of the passing of your sister any longer. Even worse, people around you constantly put the image back in your mind by asking, "Any signs of your sister?" or, "How is your family doing?" You loved your sister, more than anything in the world, even though she always pestered you, and she will always remain in your heart. Until you join her, you have to keep living your life, and you will have to make the most of it. Most of all, you will always put family first.
