Outlander

Before the Horsemaster can respond, you cry out;
"What right do you have, huh?"
The soldier looks at you in alarm. "Excuse me?"
"You heard me! The Raptors abandoned this city twenty-five years ago. You only work for yourselves, but our people are homeless refugees in need of shelter. If you will not allow us in, we have the forces, we will remove you to make way for our people!"
"Well said," Merida mutters behind you. "Aggressive, but well said."
The Falcon leaves to consult his men, and then returns. "Very well. We will leave, and you can have this city."
The people cheer and begin to stream through the open gates. It is nearly turmoil after that. People randomly and haphazardly choosing dwellings, staking claims, even setting up temporary shops. You almost move to intervene, but Lucia stops you. "Let them be excited," she says. "They will settle down. Take the soldiers and work on defense."

Night falls. While you stand as one of the nightly sentinels on the wall, you see torches of goblins approach. You sound the alarm and hundreds of archers man their positions. Bodies of your opponents fall, but the whole force does not stop its momentum. They begin to climb the walls. Your forces retreat, but there is nowhere to go in the walled city. As you fall under their blades, you remember the Falcons and their urgency to leave the city...
