Welcome to the land of Hakin, Nathan. While there are four principal nations that control the lands to the north, south, east, and west, you live near a tiny village in the center of the continent that has too little to belong to any particular nation. You have grown up with this village and you have many friends there; one of them being the fair Lucia Idrane, daughter of the local innkeeper. You still consider the idea of proposing to her, but you know her father would be strict about his daughter's suitor. You would have had a better preparation for courtship, but your parents died three years ago, leaving little behind.
