You brace for the loss of your favorite toaster. However when you get back, you talk to your RA and Meredith and you come to find out you don't have to lose your favorite toaster forever! Meredith and your RA explain that they need you to bring your toaster down to the Cutler office to be stored until you can take it home. It doesn't have to be thrown away! You are positively giddy. You are a perfect resident and fall asleep feeling happy.
